Over the weekend, I was able to spend some time with family and friends and decompress a bit. It’s been a wild few weeks with the public launch of the Forward Inheritance portal and onboarding the families we are humbled to serve. I’m excited that these folks are helping secure their legacy and protect their families. I was also able to have distinct conversations with three little birds who are all trying to help their family estates:
- The Deceased Doctor - I know a family whose patriarch recently passed, leaving quite the estate with multiple properties, multiple business interests, accounts everywhere, and the surviving spouse doesn’t have the details. One of three children is the new leader of the family while two of them live across the country. The family needs to organize everything securely and share it appropriately. The portal serves them perfectly.
- The Aging Parent - I heard from a friend who wants to organize her father’s estate. The mother has passed, and the father is a bit overwhelmed by technology. Rather than make the father register, Forward allows her to register a second account (one for her, one for her father’s estate) and with one login, toggle between the two seamlessly. She was delighted.
- The In-Law Estate - I connected with an old friend who wanted to learn more about what we’ve launched. After I explain it, he goes, “Well, my in-laws only have a ~$1M estate, probably too small for you…” “Do you think $1M is a lot of money?” “Yes, I do” “So do we, and our portal was designed to serve the 12M families about to give $1-$5M of inheritance to the next generation.” He was excited that he could organize everything for his spouse’s family. The portal relieves a huge burden.
All real lives. All real situations. All critical for their families. And if we want to sing “everything little thing is gonna be alright…” it is going to take proper planning, paperwork, and process. We can help ourselves. We can help move our families forward…
